Basic Art

Learn the basics of art while you develop your own style. Master basic techniques and tricks-of-the-trade as you frame your subjects, build your sketches with basic art forms, and fill your works with color and texture. You will create artwork as you explore each topic assigned. At the end of the course I will suggest art venues in which you may be successful.
REQUIREMENTS: All artwork will be done in your personal sketchbook (except for special projects). All work will be critiqued by instructor. At the end of the class you will complete an online portfolio and 3D VR world showcasing your art for your final grade.
MATERIALS you must have for class: -hard and soft graphite art pencils such as 2B, 4B, 2H, HB -a good quality artist's metal sharpener -a good quality, clean art eraser -an artist's sketchbook (suggested sheet size at least 8x10 inches)
SUGGESTED MATERIALS: -an art box or bag to carry your materials -for special projects, you may use a point-and-shoot or digital camera with image editing programs such as Photoshop or L View Pro -- you can also use your choice of drawing/painting materials which may include markers, colored pencils, poster paints, pastels, art quills, watercolors, acrylics, oils, canvases, colored paper
